Why local matters for a paint job

It is not marketing filler in this trade. East Tennessee humidity dictates how long a deck has to dry before it will take stain, and how long an exterior coat needs between rain showers. The freeze-thaw cycle here is what makes breathable coatings on brick a requirement rather than a preference. Hard afternoon sun on a west-facing elevation will fail a cheap paint years before the north side shows anything.
